600 Transit agencies sharing $7.5 Billion...? Why, that's about $1 Million each-- covering about 1 weeks worth of operating costs at most. How much did DOT give to highways & car drivers again...?

This is impressive. I am especially glad that older diesel buses are being replaced by ones using cleaner fuels. Do you still operate the National Hydrogen Power Bus Program? That would be able to play a huge role in reducing pollution because the only exhaust from Hydrogen is pure water vapor. Electric power is a clean way to power buses as an intermediate step on the way to hydrogen power. With electric powered vehicles, it is not the electric engines and batteries that pollute, but the power plants that supply the electricity to recharge the batteries. Hopefully, something can be done to shift smaller shuttle and paratransit buses away from gasoline and diesel and to cleaner fuels. Thank you and best wishes, Michael E. Bailey.

Its really exciting to see the effects from the Recovery Act! I'm glad the government is taking a stand!

What killed her was an idiot on a cell phone while driving. I believe people like to point out others shortcomings just to make themselves feel better. Driving home from work, I was behind a minivan with a huge anti smoking bumper sticker. The minivan was weaving, the speed was fast then slow; appeared to be a drunk driver. Pulling up next to the minivan at a stop light, I saw a young mother with two small kids in carseats in the back. Minimom was on a cell phone.
