Maybe the rejected FL High Speed Rail money could be allocated for SunRail (and a superior Light Rail – Urban Metro Transit system for Central Florida). SunRail and Light Rail systems do not need to be standardized with other rail systems elsewhere in the USA like High Speed Rail. Along with SunRail we can build a test-bed rail system based on parts of MagLev technology – Linear Induction Motors (LIMs) also used in ultra-fast accelerating theme park rides – and we can lead the nation and California rather than follow and with the HSR money reallocated we can employ Tampa engineers as well as many other high-tech people.

New York State would benefit by high speed rail linking all the major upstate cities with the downstate area.

The President and you understand the importance of the idea of pay as you go for new projects and of investing in the future with revitalized and new infrastructure. Some members of the House and Senate also know how important these things are. My concern is that many new members of the House probably don't know how important transportation is and they have the ability to decide how the House will vote. Just like there needs to be public education campaigns and outreach on how important transportation systems are to the public, so the same thing must be done with new legislators. Best wishes, Michael E. Bailey.

I'd like to know what the consolidation of 55 programs means!? It is so vague. Are they all eliminated? Lumped into one general pool? What!? Thousands of jobs are on the line related to these programs, so the President needs to step up and clarify!!
