I am pleased to share the news that the Department of Transportation was recognized recently with the Small Business Administration's Gold Star award. The SBA presents the award to agencies that exhibit exemplary performance in pursuit of aggressive goals and strategic initiatives to help increase small business participation in the federal marketplace. And thanks to our Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), we have been doing exactly that.

Our small businesses are leaders in the kind of innovation that will help America win the future. They are also engines of economic growth and job creation. When we talk about strengthening our economy and our competitiveness, that starts with small businesses. Helping these businesses gain access to opportunities helps the nation.
That’s why our OSDBU team is working so hard. And their commitment to providing contracting and subcontracting opportunities for small, women-owned and disadvantaged businesses has really made a difference.

Cheers! Hardwork finally get paid. With this award, I think DOT team will constantly surprise us.
